Samsung Galaxy Aurora

Aurora Prime Phone Concept is a Follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy Aurora

If you don’t remember the Samsung Galaxy Aurora , well it was a concept made by Alexander Black and now the designer is back with a follow-up. The new model is called Aurora Prime and uses all the things that were not so good on the first device, now corrected and improved.

Aurora Prime Phone Concept is a Follow up to the Samsung Galaxy Aurora

The pictures you’re seeing here have teaser value and the finalized smartphone will come on March 30th. Obviously feedback is welcome at this stage. The handset looks very much like a Galaxy S series member would look like and it’s very, very slim, plus it seems to have a cutout for a Home button. The Aurora Prime smartphone features an edge to edge display, that’s about 5 inches in diagonal, if you allow me to estimate.
No idea what the back looks like, but I’m guessing it’s black and it’s either made of plastic material or metal. I’m also guessing there’s a 13 megapixel camera on there, some powerful speakers and inside the device there’s 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and maybe an 8 core CPU. Don’t be surprised if we end up with another Galaxy S5 concept!

Nokia Lumia 880 Concept Phone

Nokia Lumia 880 Concept Phone has a Removable Shell, Looks Affordable, Sounds High End

Many people loved the Nokia Lumia 800 and its proportions, so much that they decided to turn it into a more accessible piece of gear. Enter Nokia Lumia 880, designed by Adriano Alfaro. This Nokia concept is basically a Nokia Lumia 800 with the ability to change the cover like on the Lumia 610, 620 and 710.

Nokia Lumia 880 Concept Phone has a Removable Shell, Looks Affordable, Sounds High End

The dimensions are somewhere in between the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 920. The interchangeable back of the Lumia 880 has a low cost and it’s made from a polycarbonate shell, a bunch of buttons (camera, on/off and volume), plus the flash glass. You can also add an optional wireless charging element. This model has a removable battery, microSD storage and it measures 10 mm in thickness. The specs include a 4 inch 1280 x 768 pixel display and a dual core Snapdragon S4 processor at 1.5 GHz.
Nokia Lumia 880 has an 8.7 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, but there’s no mention of Pureview here, in case you’re wondering. We also get 32 GB of storage, 1 GB of RAM and the ability to shoot Full HD video at 30 fps with optical image stabilization. This model is totally doable, actually Nokia has some similar ones on the market right now, although they’re not high specced or packing removable shells.

Nokia Lumia 930 Catwalk

Nokia Lumia 930 Catwalk Rendered by Juha Luoma, Corrects Every Mistake of the Lumia 920

Nokia Lumia 920 is, from what I’ve heard a very successful handset and it’s very praised. However, it’s still a massive and bulky device, in need of a makeover. Said redesign may come with the rumored Nokia Catwalk, that today gets a fresh concept from Juha Luoma, who created the Nokia Lumia 930, shown below. By the way, this is his first concept.

Nokia Lumia 930 Catwalk Rendered by Juha Luoma, Corrects Every Mistake of the Lumia 920

This Lumia 920 replacement adopts a compact aluminum and glass chassis, that’s lighter than the one of the predecessor. The designer also tries to keep the current Nokia design language and give it a modern twist. I like the lower side of the model especially and how the screen feels like it’s “melting on the sides”.
Nokia Lumia 930 measures 8.8 mm in thickness and uses Corning Gorilla Glass 2 on the back and front, plus it has a scratch resistant coating. Upfront we’ve got a 4.5 inch 1280 x 768 pixel display with ClearBlack AMOLED PureMotion technology and at the back there’s an 8.7 megapixel Pureview camera. The cam uses a Carl Zeiss Tessar lens with F1.9 aperture and a focal length of 35 mm, as well as optical image stabilization. Finally, Nokia Catwalk features a Snapdragon 600 processor (quad core 1.5 GHz), wireless charging and a 2300 mAh battery. Is this worthy of a Lumia 920 follow-up?

Xperia PS Vita Concept

Xperia PS Vita Concept Features Qualcomm Octa Core Processor, 3 GB of RAM, Android Key Lime Pie

People are still wondering how Sony managed to fumble up a project as good as the Xperia Play. Well, we’ve been waiting for a successor for ages and every once in a while we get a device like this one here, the Xperia PS Vita, imagined by Junior Riega. The specs are crazy, but they’re 2014 crazy, if I can say so.

Xperia PS Vita Concept Features Qualcomm Octa Core Processor, 3 GB of RAM, Android Key Lime Pie
As you can see, the design is very similar to the previous unit’s look, only this time we get the LG UI on it, for some reason. The design is pretty rudimentary, but the specs are the salt and pepper of this concept. The device comes with 64 GB of internal memory, microSD up to 128 GB, 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 3.0 GHz Octa core processor. The GPU is an Adreno 500 and the model runs the new Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, that will be unveiled in May.
The display is a Super AMOLED Full HD one with a 4.5 inch diagonal and 3D abilities, plus a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. The screen is polarized antiglare and is scratch resistant and unbreakable. The device also uses Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 2, HDMI and USB, a Walkman key and a camera button. There’s even a built in projector with 50 lumens capacity. Charging is done via wireless and there are two powerful speakers on board.
Sony Xperia PS Vita weighs 293 grams and measures 18 mm in thickness. The camera at the back is a 21 megapixel unit with Ultra Pixel technology and 24x zoom. It does 4k video capture at 120 fps and upfront we’ve got a 5.1 MP shooter. Digital TV and radio are included and this console will support PlayStation 1, 2 and 3 games, apparently.

Sony Edge Phone

Sony Edge Phone Uses the World’s Thinnest Screen Frame

Deviantart member fediaFedia created an interesting Sony concept phone, more interesting through its specs than design. The Sony Edge is the handset with the world’s thinnest screen frame and it’s pictured below. It’s basically a whole touchscreen slab in a compact format.

Sony Edge Phone Uses the Worlds Thinnest Screen Frame

Sony Edge runs Android 4.1.2 and relies on an Exynos 1.6 GHz Octa core processor, although I doubt Samsung would lend its CPU to some other big maker. They did however lend an Exynos to Meizu, so who knows? Going further, the Sony Edge smartphone features a 5.2 inch 3D Super AMOLED 1920 x 1080 pixel display, with Gorilla Glass 2 protection and reflection reduction.
Other specs include 3G, 4G and LTE connectivity, 2 GB of RAM and at the back we’ve got an 8 megapixel rear camera with flash and 3D abilities. Finally, there’s also a front 3D 2 megapixel camera and inside the device there’s a 2550 mAh battery and support for wireless charging is also on board. MicroSD with 256 GB support, NFC and 60 FPS HD video recording are here, as well as DTS Mobile. Fancy this model?

HTC One Tab 7 Tablet

HTC One Tab 7 Tablet is Derived From the HTC One, Enhanced

Hasan Kaymak, the person responsible with the HTC Concepts Facebook page sent us another one of his creations, a HTC concept tablet. The new model is called HTC One Tab 7 and by the way, the designer has a new page, a Google+ one called Hasan Kaymak Innovations.

HTC One Tab 7 Tablet is Derived From the HTC One, Enhanced
You should know that Hasan has created many of the latest HTC renders we’ve published on this site. Back to the tablet, the HTC One Tab 7 draws its inspiration from the HTC One handset and it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, a 7 inch Full HD SLCD 3 display and HTC Sense 5.0 UI with BlinkFeed and HTC Zoe. There’s also Beats Audio, very loud speakers and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as the OS.
4G LTE, WiFi and a battery with 10 hours of functioning time round up the specs list. We also get an 8 ultrapixel camera with LED flash and a nano SIM and microSD card slot. This would instantly become the tablet with the best camera and also with the most interesting interface. Considering all these technologies, it would also cost quite a bundle…

Apple iPhone X

Apple iPhone X is a Beautiful Dream, by Bob Freking (Video)

It’s been quite a while since we last saw an iPhone concept, so this one is welcome! Bob Freking imagined a 4.8 inch Retina Display Apple smarpthone, with a seamless design and ports underneath glass cover.

Apple iPhone X is a Beautiful Dream, by Bob Freking (Video)

At the back we’ve got a 16 megapixel iSight camera with dual LED flash, while upfront there’s a 4.8 inch Retina Display with reimagined design. The Home button has also been redesigned and seems more separate from the lower section than usual. By the way, this device is called the Apple iPhone X and it gets a trailer shown below. The handset comes with wireless charging, NFC sharing and it’s the thinnest and lightest iPhone ver. It also seems to have a metal shell for the most part, one that’s slightly curved.
I like how the back resembles the one of the older iPhones. Bob Freking even imagined a price tag for the iPhone X concept: $1,199 for the 128 GB version. Specs also include an AX quad core CPU, most likely the A7, 2 GB of RAM and iOS 7.0 probably. Can Apple come up with that for the iPhone 6S maybe?

Nokia K1-00 Phablet

Nokia K1-00 Phablet Uses a 5.9 Inch Display, Has a Very Cool Back Design

I have to admit I’ve missed Nokia concepts lately, while being drowned in a sea of Samsung Galaxy S IV renders. Luckily Khoa Do Vinh has a new Nokia for us, dubbed K1-00 and this is actually a phablet, not a phone. Enjoy!

Nokia K1 00 Phablet Uses a 5.9 Inch Display, Has a Very Cool Back Design

The Nokia K1-00 phablet features a 5.9 inch AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass protection and PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack technology. There’s also 32 GB of storage and a TI OMAP 3630 1 GHz CPU, plus a PowerVR SGX530 GPU. There’s a USB 3.0 port on board and a 41 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and optical image stabilizaiton.
Pureview technology is here, with autofocus and dual LED flash. The surprising bit? This Nokia phablet runs MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan, an OS we thought was dead and buried. The back side of the device looks a bit sci-fi, almost like spaceship or a complicated camcorder… What do you think about this device and most of all MeeGo?

Sony Xperia Tablet X

Sony Xperia Tablet X is a Normal Tablet, Which is a Big Deal for Sony

Suman Chatterjee created the Sony Xperia X smartphone and now he used that as inspiration for a tablet. Meet the Sony Xperia Tablet X, a device with a normal slate design, which is a big deal for Sony, who has been experimenting with those poor folded magazine formats.

Sony Xperia Tablet X is a Normal Tablet, Which is a Big Deal for Sony

Luckily they got some sense kicked into them, once they saw that the Xperia Tablet S was not selling. Then they came out with the Xperia Tablet Z and now we’ve got the Xperia Tablet X concept. I imagine that the specs are superior to the Xperia Tablet Z, so maybe there’s a Snapdragon 600 or 800 inside, perhaps 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM and maybe a brand new 13.1 MP Exmor R camera.
The display may finally move into Retina territory, which is something that only Samsung has been doing, among the big Android slate makers. As usual audio and video capacity will be top notch on the slate. Fancy this model?

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Features a 5.9 Inch Full HD Screen, 8 Core CPU

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Features a 5.9 Inch Full HD Screen, 8 Core CPU

After all those Galaxy S4 concepts, it’s time for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to shine, through an interesting bunch of renders. We’re dealing with a pretty big phablet, with a 5.9 inch diagonal and Super AMOLED technology powering the screen.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Features a 5.9 Inch Full HD Screen, 8 Core CPU

The display supports a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and under the hood we find an 8 core setup, with a 4 core 2 GHz Cortex A15 + 4 core 1.4 GHz Cortex A7 included. This is the big.LITTLE setup if I’m not mistaking. Other specs include 4 GB of RAM, 64/128 GB of storage, microSDXC slot with support for up to 128 GB, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie as the OS and a 16 megapixel rear camera with LED flash.
There’s also Full HD video capture at 60 FPS available and upfront we’ve got a 2 megapixel camera with BSI and 1080p video capture as well. This Samsung Galaxy Note 3 concept, sent to us by Master Nexus also comes with Bluetooth 4.0, a 4000 mAh battery (Li-Ion) and a chassis that measures 9 mm in thickness. The device weighs 220 grams and it adopts a pretty squared and elongated design, but the back side feels very familiar from previous Galaxy Note 3 concepts.

Samsung Ativ Tab Concept

Samsung Ativ Tab Concept by Mohammad Mahdi Azimi

You probably know that Samsung decided not to sell the Samsung Ativ Tab tablet in Europe or USA, so this product will most likely never see a wide rollout. We can consider it cancelled, but designer Mohammad Mahdi Azimi proposes a slightly different product, under the same name. Meet the new and improved Samsung ATIV Tab:

Samsung Ativ Tab Concept by Mohammad Mahdi Azimi

The device runs Windows 8 and has a new Samsung Audio engine, that provides it with a great audio experience. It has two sided speakers, at the front and back and a technology called Sound Analysis Pro. The device looks a bit like an old school PC monitor, if you ask me. The speakers are huge, taking a big part of the tablet’s design. It all seems encased in metal and this model looks a bit bulky.
This Samsung Ativ Tab concept probably has the usual specs of a higher end modern slate. So, if it runs Windows 8 it’s Intel Core i3 up to i7 and if it’s Windows RT we’ve got quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 probably. So, which model do you like more, the real one or this concept?
